Enjoy this special time with the kids

We are all new to this age of quarantine and social distancing. This can sometimes be fun and sometimes it can be challenging, especially for parents with active toddlers who constantly need to be doing something at all times. So we thought it would be a great idea to come up with some activities you can try to keep your kids busy, happy and healthy.

  1. Family TikToks

Enjoy laughter and silliness while filming TikToks with your family. This activity helps you spend a few hours, later you can enjoy while watching and sharing them with your loved ones.

  1. Charades

Play charades with your kids. Charades sessions are always filled with fun and its always a great bonding time with your family.

  1. Bake together

Baking is always fun. Make teams and announce which team will be making breakfast this Monday. It will be super fun. Change the activity before it starts sounding like a chore.

  1. Go out for walks

While practicing social distancing, remember to get your regular exercise. Make a schedule to go out for a walk even if it’s for 15 minutes a day. It will keep you fresh and active.

  1. Have family sessions

Allocate some time to family sessions where no screens are allowed. Just sit with each other and talk about whatever comes to mind. This is a great time to get to know each other better and have heart to heart conversations.

  1. Conduct contests

It is a great way to teach your children about healthy competition while making them learn something new. Whether its general knowledge, drawing, spellings, just chose a category and be a part of them. Then all of you can decide the winner together.

  1. Start an indoor herb garden

Give each of your children different pots to grow their own herbs, let them take care of their herbs, encourage them every time you use something from their pot, it’s a great way to teach them responsibility.

  1. Make slime together

Nothing makes kids happier than slime. Cover the floor with newspaper and set out to make slime. Here is a quick and easy way to make slime from household items.

  • In a bowl, put 200 ml of clear liquid glue. Add a swish of food color like pink or red.
  • In another bowl, put 60 grams Baking Soda and mix it with 500 ml hot water. Mix well with a spoon and let it cool.
  • Pour half of the baking soda mixture in the glue bowl and mix and swirl until the glue becomes slimy. Take out the glue for it to dry. And it's ready!

 

  1. Learn a new skill together

Whether its painting, puzzle solving or darts, just make sure that you do it together which will make it more fun and exciting. It will then turn into something all of you excel at and become a family thing.

  1. Take this time to teach your children about gratitude

Sit with your children and tell them that it is a privilege to be comfortably able to sit at home during these time. This is an important time to be grateful for everything we have.
